BluRay overpowers HDDvd
Last week, Blu-ray had its best week ever with 85% of the high-def disc market share, according to trade publication Home Media Magazine. Since the beginning of the format war, Blu-ray has been consistently outperforming HD DVD, but never at such a large rate. The second-place format was dealt a big blow a couple weeks ago when Warner Bros announced it was dropping HD DVD support, preventing the format from gaining any momentum during the Consumer Electronics Show.Additionally, Home Media Magazine reports that the 10 top-selling HD titles last week were all Blu-ray Discs, the first time that not one HD DVD made the list. At the top of the list was Blu-ray’s 3:10 To Yuma, which sold 10 times as many discs as the HD DVD release of The Kingdom. These numbers motivated some fans of HD DVD to start a petition called “Save HD DVD” - it has collected over 13 thousand singatures so far, but will that save HDDVD ...............

Apple introduces MacBook Air - the world's thinnest notebook
Apple introduced the MacBook Air, a computer that the company says , the world's thinnest notebook .
It's priced starting at $1,799 and will be available within two weeks.
Sporting a silvery finish, the MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display that has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
It weighs about 3 pounds(less than 1.5 kg), and sports a thickness of 0.16-0.76 inches. It's 12.8 inches wide and 8.95 inches deep.
The MacBook Air also features a built-in iSight webcam and a full sized MacBook-style black keyboard. The MacBook Air features a 1.8-inch hard disk drive with 80GB of storage capacity standard. A 64GB solid-state disk (SSD) drive is an option. The hard drive is a Parallel ATA (PATA) model that operates at 4200 RPM.
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo chip running at 1.6GHz, with 1.8GHz available as an option. Jobs noted that Intel was willing to engineer a new version of the Core 2 Duo specifically to Apple's specifications -- it's 60 percent smaller than others. The chip operates with 4MB of on-chip shared L2 cache running at full processor speed, and uses an 800MHz frontside bus. 2GB of 667MH DDR2 SDRAM is also included.
The MacBook Air also includes 802.11n-based wireless networking support and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
Apple estimates that with wireless networking turned on, the MacBook Air can get about 5 hours of battery life.

The Lex Tool - Parser generator
Hi coder ! I found s parser generator that generates a " .l " file when a .c , .cpp file is given as input ...
This software is for windows and of course its a shareware version i.e. they only offer a version that works for 30 days to the max ( thats enough for us ) and then u know the rest ...
As for me , i tested giving a .c prog input and went to Project->parserwizard and generated a " .l " file but didn understand what it contained ....

End of Format War ?
Now if you don't know what the phrase "End of Format War" meant you must sure be living in a strange world out there.
And for those who know that, yep we think that the HD-DVD & BluRay format war between Toshiba and Sony Corp is sure gonna end soon and we guess that Sony Corp .may ( or will sure?) win it .
Now here's the update and why sony corp would win it..
"JAN. 7 | After Warner Bros. Entertainment’s decision to release titles exclusively on Blu-ray Disc, research firm Understanding & Solutions forecasts that the high-definition format war will be resolved by the end of this year.
The company had recently projected that falling Blu-ray set-top pricing was hurting what advantages the HD DVD format enjoyed, leading Blu-ray to be in a strong position to be victorious eventually. But the Warner bombshell moved up that timetable considerably, according to the company.
“As we stand today, Warner Bros.’ decision to shift from its dual-format position has brought much-needed clarity to the market and strengthens Blu-ray’s hand considerably,” said Jim Bottoms, co-managing director of Understanding & Solutions. “Looking ahead, the next six months will be critical for the future of high-definition discs. There’s significant market potential for a packaged format, and with 75% of Hollywood studio disc releases exclusively behind Blu-ray from the end of May 2008, the confusion may soon be over. We should see an end to the format war within the year.”
The company predicts that by 2011, high-def set-top penetration in the U.S should be at 36%.

Regular Expression to NFA - C program
Hello!! Now this is one helluva program coded by yep our faithful programmer 120.
( A big thanks to the person)
The program is to Convert a input of Regular Expression into a suitable Non-deterministic finite automata and to show the result in the form of a transition table.
The 2nd part that is the validation of a string is easy and can be coded by anyone as said by everyone ....
